Sample Alaska Tours

Here's a selection of Independent Alaska Tours that we offer. These samples suggest a typical "day of departure" to coinside with the Alaska Ferry Schedules which do not operate port-to-port every day of the week. All are priced based on two persons traveling but are available with a single suppliment or for families and groups of more than two. These are NOT Group Departures but operate as Self-Guided trips.

For our friends who own RV's, there are some special considerations in our RV section . We'll customize a package just for you that allows you to stay in your RV (except on overnights aboard the ferry), and enjoy our expertise in planning your route and excursions.



7 Day Inside Passage Air and Ferry Tour - Thursday Departures - [top]

Our 7 Day Inside Passage Tour, includes air flight from Seattle to Sitka, two nights first-class hotel, the Fast-Ferry from Sitka to Juneau and three nights in Juneau. Explore Tracy Arm and the Twin Sawyer Glaciers on a full day boat trip. Take the Fast Ferry to Petersburg and spend two nights at Alaska's Little Norway with a full day of Whale-Watching before departing via air back to Seattle. Thursday departures from Seattle.  
All this for a total of $2,005 per person, based on double occupancy.



10 Day Combo: Inside Passage and Denali by Train - Thursday Departures -  [ top]

Our 10 Day Combo of the Inside Passage and Denali by Train starts with a flight from Seattle to Sitka. You'll spend two nights in Sitka and then take the Fast-Ferry to Juneau and spend three nights. Explore Tracy Arm and the twin Sawyer Glaciers by boat, then fly to Anchorage. You'll have one night in Anchorage before departing on the Alaska Railroad for the train trip to Denali National Park. Stay two nights at the Denali Princess Lodge and tour deep into the park on the Denali Wildlife Tour. Continue on the train to Fairbanks where you'll have two nights lodging and explore Fairbanks via the Riverboat Discovery tour. Your tour ends with flights back to Seattle on the last day.  
Based on a Thursday from Seattle, the price is only $3,179 per person, double occupancy.





13 Day Grand Alaska Tour; Inside Passage Ferries, Fjords, Whales, Trains, Wildlife and Riverboats - Thursday Departures -  [ top]

Our 13 day Grand Alaska Tour departs from Seattle on a jet flight to Sitka. You'll stay two nights in Sitka and have time to explore the Russian Heritage, the Raptor Center and their Native American Cultural Heritage. Continue on the Fast Ferry to Juneau and spend three nights at Alaska's Capitol City. Enjoy a full-day boat trip to Tracy Arm and the twin Sawyer Glaciers. You'll board the Fast Ferry and travel the four-hour trip to Petersburg, Alaska's Little Norway where you'll spend two nights. In Petersburg you'll enjoy a full-day Whalewatching trip to Frederick Sound, famous for its resident Humpback Whale population. Fly on a jet from Petersburg to Anchorage and spend a night in Alaska's largest city. Continue on the Alaska Railroad to Denali National Park where you'll spend two nights at the Denali Princess. Explore Denali on the full-day Tundra Wildlife Tour into the park. You'll take the train to Fairbanks and spend two nights and have time to explore. Enjoy the Riverboat Discovery tour aboard a tradional paddle-wheel riverboat before a jet flight back to Seattle for your connections home. Departures on Thursdays all summer.  
All this for only $3870 per person, double occupancy.

7 Day Inside Passage Ferry and Glacier Bay National Park Tour - Friday Departures -  [ top]

Board a jet in Seattle and depart for Alaska's Capitol city, Juneau, then continue on to Gustavus, the gateway to Glacier Bay National Park. You'll enjoy a night at the Glacier Bay Country Inn. You'll spend the day exploring Glacier Bay by boat and view the majestic glaciers and Wildlife guided by naturalists from the Park Service. They are on board to share information about the marine life, birds, plants and other wildlife you encounter on your journey. This evening, fly back to Juneau and spend the night in Alaska's Capitol. You'll have time to explore the city before departing on the ferry to Skagway where miners headed up the "Trail of '98", exploring for gold in the Klondike. You'll ride the White Pass and Yukon Railroad on their Three-hour excursion up to the White Pass summit. Depart on the Alaska Ferry this evening with your private stateroom for a four-night cruise thru the Inside Passage. There'll be brief Stops at Haines, Juneau, Sitka, Petersburg, Wrangell and Ketchikan before arriving Bellingham, Washington on Friday morning.  
Departures on Friday, Total cost is $1,989 per person, double occupancy.

We offer, and suggest strongly that you consider purchasing, Travel Insurance. 

Our experience with independent travel in Alaska shows that the unexpected can and does happen and take you off-guard. Various forms of transportation are used for travel between towns and regions of Alaska. Somtimes delays effect your plans and additional expenses are incured to get you back on track. Having a reliable backup plan with insurance coverage that covers potential losses can be a lifesaver.

Our tours can operate in "reverse" order, start earlier or end later depending on your individual needs. Obviously, we need to work within ferry schedules, but there's always another option that can be considered. .
